Waste-not, Want-not
One thing is certain- there is no shortage of delectable treats around the holidays.
If you happen to host a number of events, you're probably dealing with some leftovers. This year, I found that I had some pulla leftover that either needed to be used- or fed to the chickens.
I chose to make Pulla Bread Pudding. We ended up making a meal of it with some fruit on the side and some little sausages to boot.
Seedpod Farm Pulla Bread Pudding
8 eggs- beaten
1/2 cup milk
1/2 cup whipping cream
1t cardamom
1t vanilla
5 cups coarsely chopped day old pulla (challah or french bread)
1/4 cup sliced almonds
Lightly butter a pie plate. Place pulla bread chunks in pie plate. Mix first 5 ingredients and then pour over the pulla bread. Sprinkle with sliced almonds. Bake at 350degrees until custard is set. Serve with caramel sauce or a dollop of whipcream. Enjoy!
